30 Day Pride Month Challenge - Day #2

Q: First memorable realization? (first "oh I'm gay/trans" moment)

My first moment was when I was around eleven (1991), I was playing dress-up with my neighbor and best friend Tara at her house one summer afternoon. She did my hair and makeup with some of her older sisters' stuff she "borrowed" along with some of her own clothes. We then had a "girls' day" of watching cartoons with snacks I had brought with me. Having a dress on, hair done, and makeup done, made me feel so normal. I already acted like one of the girls when I would hang out with most of my female friends, so it just kinda clicked. Having to keep a male facade up for so many years felt so wrong until I chose to come out and transition. As far as being attracted to women, that was always there, but emotionally deep, not just sexually. My love for trans-men came much later in life as I had never seen or met one of them until I was in my early thirties. But my love for not only femme but butch women pretty much sealed the deal for me when it came to trans-men, with their short hair, soft features, and muscles.
